This policy explains how Speed Plus ("we", "us", "our") handles personal information when you visit speedplus.us, contact us, book a call, or engage us for work.
It covers data we handle for our own purposes. When we work inside your Shopify store or your source platform, we handle your customers' data on your instructions as your processor, and that is governed by our Terms of Service and any data processing terms we agree with you.
1. Who we are
Speed Plus is a Shopify and Shopify Plus agency. For data we collect for our own purposes, the data controller is Speed Plus, New York City, New York, United States. You can reach us at support@speedplus.us.
2. What we collect
When you contact us or book a call. Your name, email address, company name, phone number where you give it, and whatever you tell us about your project. Calls are booked through Calendly, which collects the details you enter and your chosen time.
When you visit the site. Your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view, how long you stay, and the page or search that sent you. This comes from Shopify's own analytics and from any analytics tools we run.
When we work together. Contact details for your team, credentials and access tokens you give us for your systems, billing details, and the records of our correspondence.
We do not sell personal information and we do not use your data to build advertising profiles.
3. Why we use it
- To answer enquiries and prepare proposals.
- To deliver the work you engage us for.
- To invoice and to keep accounting records.
- To keep the site working, secure and reasonably fast.
- To understand which pages are useful, in aggregate.
- To send you things you asked to receive. You can stop those at any time.
Where the law requires a legal basis, ours is: performing a contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and improving the business, your consent where you gave it, and compliance with legal obligations such as tax record keeping.
4. Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses cookies and similar storage. They fall into three groups.
Necessary. Set by Shopify to make the site work, remember your session and protect against abuse. These cannot be switched off without breaking the site.
Analytics. Used to count visits and see which pages people read. We use these in aggregate. If you decline them, the site still works.
Preferences. Remember small choices, for example a menu you opened. They stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working. Where local law requires a consent banner, one is shown and your choice is respected.
5. Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is needed, and only with:
- Shopify, which hosts the site and provides its analytics.
- Calendly, which handles call bookings.
- Email and productivity providers, which carry our correspondence and documents.
- Payment and accounting providers, which process invoices and keep records.
- Professional advisers, where we need legal or accounting advice.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
We require anyone handling personal information on our behalf to keep it secure and to use it only for the purpose we gave it to them for.
Some of these providers operate outside your country. Where data moves across borders we rely on the transfer mechanisms those providers put in place, such as standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become projects: up to 24 months, then deleted. Client records and correspondence: for the engagement and 7 years after, to meet tax and legal record keeping requirements. Credentials and access tokens: only for as long as the work needs them. We revoke and delete them at the end of an engagement, and we ask you to rotate anything you shared. Site analytics: as retained by the analytics provider, in aggregate.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us to give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send it to another provider. You may also withdraw consent where we relied on it.
If you are in California, you may ask what we collected, ask us to delete it, and ask us not to sell or share it. We do not sell or share personal information as those terms are used in the CCPA. We will not treat you differently for exercising a right.
To exercise a right, email support@speedplus.us. We will respond within the period the law allows, usually 30 days. We may ask you to confirm your identity first.
If you are unhappy with our response you may complain to your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use access controls, encryption in transit, multi factor authentication on the accounts that matter, and least privilege access to client systems. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your personal information we will tell you and any regulator we are required to tell, without undue delay.
9. Artificial intelligence tools
We use AI assisted tools in our work. We do not put client customer personal data into public AI tools. Where AI is used on material connected with your engagement, a person reviews the output before it reaches you.
10. Children
The site is aimed at businesses. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Other sites
The site links to sites we do not control, including Shopify, Calendly and platform documentation. This policy does not cover them. Read theirs before giving them information.
12. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change is significant we will say so on the site.
